Nobody could make this stuff up . .

30 years ago . .

There was a sports car shop just north of Shawnee Mission Parkway in Kansas that I used to visit from time to time. These guys worked on Maseratis, Ferraris, Lotus, and any other exotic european hot rod there was. Despite their somewhat hillbilly appearance, they could balance a V-12 motor so that you could rest a nickel on it's edge while the motor was idling.

If I remember right, the car pictured is a Ferrari 350 Can Am, mid-engine V-12. Hot car, then and now!

The art of decay

Old, abandoned buildings just before rehabilitation can be somewhat scary and often a little dangerous. But sometimes they can be truly beautiful, too.

I'd already been processing and printing my own shots for a couple of years at this point, but I still couldn't resist taking the course. Pictured here is a good friend of mine at that time. In case you're wondering what she's doing, we all had to keep our developing tanks in or over a tub to prevent nasty chemical messes. (They happened anyway.)
